Pattern Tester Registry Application

Thank you for your interest in joining the Pine & Piece Quilt Co. pattern tester registry! Please read the information below and fill out the application.

Do you love to quilt? Love finding the typo, missed measurement, or have an idea of how to make a process for efficient? Like trying new things? Then pattern testing is for you!

As I begin to write more quilt patterns, I am desiring to build a registry of reliable pattern testers I can source from when releasing a new pattern. If chosen, you will be contacted if a quilt pattern seems like a good fit for you!

You do not have to have years of sewing under your belt to be qualified to apply. I desire my patterns to be so approachable and well written that one of my patterns could be your first, fourteenth, or fourtieth quilt. I am looking for a variety of experience levels.

Pattern testing includes:

  • Producing a quilt top (no quilting or binding required)
  • Completing the quilt top in the set turnaround window (typically 2-4 weeks)
  • Providing your own materials
  • Taking quality photos of the quilt top, which I may use for posts, promotional materials, and product listings (videos are a plus!)
  • Sending detailed feedback throughout the testing process
  • Optional: posting photos and videos of the process and finished top on social media

For pattern testing, you will have access to the PDF version of the pattern for free. In addition, you will also be involved in our pattern testing group chat (which is always so fun!).

As patterns arise that I might think fit your style, I will reach out to you. If it is not the right time for you, you may decline. I totally understand when your plate is full (or you have way too many works in progress to say yes)! You will still remain on my pattern tester registry unless you ask to be removed.

If you accept, you will have 2-4 weeks notice before testing begins to gather your materials. For some patterns, I may ask that you remain within certain parameters when testing (fabric color, size, style).

While testing, it is extremely helpful to provide detailed feedback to me. Testers help me catch mistakes, think of processes new ways, and provide other great ideas on how to improve the pattern.

If this sounds like a great fit for you, please apply below! I can’t wait to see what you create.
